Green Oak Leaf Lettuce – 3-Pack Plant

UDSA Certified Organic. A favorite for baby leaf salads, these sweet, rounded leaves add contrast and variety to salad mixes. The leaves have a buttery texture that are thick and tighten to form compact, striking dark green heads with a crunchy heart.

Each plant is started from certified organic seeds and grown organically at The Bloomery, LLC where it is USDA Certified Organic through the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Each plant is grown in a 3-inch square pot and shipped in a plastic shell that holds your plant securely in place.

Plant Spacing:

• Babyleaf – continuous band.
• Full size – 8-12”

Row Spacing:

• Babyleaf - ¾” between bands, 16 rows/36” bed.
• Full size - 12-18” or 3 rows/36” bed, 5’ centers.

Other Considerations:

• Harden off seedlings by reducing water and temperature for 2-3 days before transplanting. 

Harvest:

• Cut lettuce holds best when harvested in the morning and cooled rapidly. 
• For salad mix or baby leaf production, harvest individual leaves when they reach desired size, or cut evenly across the bed making sure to stay above the growing tip. 
• For a continuous harvest, sow lettuce every 3 weeks.

Storage:

• Store just above freezing temperatures with 98% humidity.
